How to Find Real Cigar and Whiskey-Gear Deals Online

Short answer: The best cigar deals online come from a handful of repeatable mechanisms: samplers, daily and weekly deal pages, auctions and name-your-price offers, closeout sections, and email or text lists. Each big retailer runs its own mix. Whiskey gear such as glasses and decanters follows simpler rules, mostly free-shipping thresholds and seasonal sales. Before you buy, check the price per stick, compare it against the list price and at least one other store, and add shipping and tax to the total.

We checked every deal mechanism below on the retailer's own website on October 26, 2026. We don't quote prices, discount percentages, or promo codes here, because they change constantly. Anything marked check current terms changes often, so confirm it on the retailer's site before you order.

Amazon (whiskey gear and cigar accessories)

[AFFILIATE: Amazon]

Amazon's seller policy on tobacco and tobacco-related products prohibits listing tobacco products, meaning anything made fully or partly from leaf tobacco, so Amazon doesn't list cigars. The same policy allows certain tobacco-related accessories, including cigar cutters, humidors, lighters, and ashtrays. Amazon tobacco policy That makes Amazon useful for whiskey gear such as glasses, ice molds, and decanters, and for cigar accessories. Its biggest documented fall sale is Prime Big Deal Days. In 2026 it ran October 6–7 for Prime members, with new limited-time deals dropping three times a day. Amazon also says product pages offer a "Price History" view covering up to 365 days, which is a quick way to tell whether a "deal" is really lower than usual. About Amazon: Prime Big Deal Days 2026

How to tell whether a deal is actually good

Work out the price per stick

Divide the total price by the number of cigars. A 40-cigar sampler and a 5-pack can't be compared any other way. Some sites, Thompson's deals pages among them, let you filter by price per cigar. Compare like with like, too: a 5-pack of a premium blend and a bundle of machine-made smokes aren't the same product even at the same per-stick price.

Compare against MSRP and at least one other store

Most of these retailers show a list price or MSRP next to the sale price, and samplers often claim a large "value." That's a useful anchor, but it's the retailer's own number. Check the same item, in the same count, at another retailer on this page before you treat a markdown as real. With samplers, ask whether you'd actually smoke every cigar in the box. A cheap sampler isn't a bargain if half of it sits unsmoked.

Add shipping and tax before you decide

  • Shipping. Free-shipping thresholds, flat rates, and per-lot auction charges can move the real price a lot. On Cigar Bid, weekly shipping consolidates your wins into one shipment. At Mike's, free shipping requires a specific shipping method, and most retailers exclude heavy items like humidors.
  • Tax. Tobacco shipping rules and taxes vary by state. Many states add a tobacco excise tax on top of sales tax for online cigar orders, and some states restrict which tobacco products can be shipped to them, or bar shipping entirely. Each retailer's shipping or tax page lists the states it collects for and where it won't ship, so read it for your state before you compare totals.
  • Stacking rules. Coupons, points, and free shipping often can't be combined, and on-sale items are commonly excluded from coupons and points. Read the fine print before you count on a stacked discount.
  • Returns. Some deal items are final sale. Norlan doesn't refund sale items, and Cigar Page marks some liquidation items final sale.

Seasonal sale calendar (documented only)

We list only sales the retailer itself documents. If a retailer isn't listed here, we couldn't confirm a recurring sale on its own site.

  • October: Amazon Prime Big Deal Days. This ran October 6–7 in 2026 for Prime members. Useful for whiskey gear and cigar accessories, not cigars. aboutamazon.com
  • Late November: Famous Smoke Shop Black Friday. Famous keeps a dedicated Black Friday page for gift sets, holiday collections, sampler deals, and box buys. Famous Black Friday
  • Year-round, on a fixed rhythm: the Joe Cigar deal resets daily at midnight Eastern, Cigar Monster adds deals daily, CI's Weekly Special changes each week, and Cigar Page's Live Deals typically last two to three days.

FAQ

Are Cigar Bid, Cigars International, and Thompson the same company?

They're separate storefronts owned by the same parent, STG, which lists all three as business units. Cigar Monster, by contrast, belongs to Famous Smoke Shop.

Is the sampler or the box the better deal?

Work it out per stick. Samplers are the cheap way to try brands. Once you know what you like, a box, or a box that qualifies for free shipping or a gift with purchase, often comes out ahead.

Why don't you list promo codes?

Codes expire quickly, and printing an old one wastes your time. Each retailer's own promotions or coupon page, linked above, has the current ones.
